Rockstar has officially denied the use of artificial intelligence and the presence of microtransactions in the new GTA 6. The confirmation came during an interactive preview at the headquarters of the studio in Edinburgh, the same occasion when the Extended Look for Netflix had been realized. Rob Nelson, co-director of the Rockstar North studio, stated that the game does not provide for any purchase with real money within the gaming world and that artificial intelligence was not used in its creation. The answer refers to generative tools, distancing itself from traditional systems used to manage traffic, pedestrians and behavior of the law enforcement forces of the series. This point of view had already been expressed by Strauss Zelnick, president of Take-Two Interactive, in February last, when he stated that the IA generative will have no role in the development of GTA 6, underlining that the worlds of the game will be built “road by road”, or with a manual and detailed approach. The New York Times reported interesting information about this: GTA 6 will contain over 600,000 animations, a significantly greater number than about 55.000 of GTA 5 and about 300,000 Red Dead Redemption 2. Despite the confirmation that the game will be available for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, Rockstar avoided releasing statements on the next version of GTA Online, still under development. The standard edition of the game costs $80, while the $100 Ultimate Edition includes bonuses for preorder. The monetization model remains linked to the sale of Shark Cards for GTA Online, a practice consolidated by the series. Sensor Tower data indicates an increase of 436% of preorders on August 27, the day of the Extended Look on Netflix, compared to the previous day, and an increase of 572% between August 27 and 28 compared to the average of the previous 30 days. The increase in sales was higher on PlayStation (606%) than the Xbox (127%). At the moment, the preorders of GTA 6 amount to 4.55 million.
