GTA 6: First Gameplay on Netflix, Date of Transmission Confirmed

Rockstar Games has officially announced that the first taste of the gameplay of Grand Theft Auto VI will be available streaming on Netflix, on August 27, 2026 at 21:00 Italian. The software house broke the silence with the preview called “Extended Look”, a special content that could reveal the first playable game sequence. The event will be broadcast worldwide at the same time, but it will also be available on YouTube and the official Rockstar Games channels at 3:00 am on August 28th. The title, set in the imaginary state of Leonida and with the famous Vice City as inspiration for the setting (Miami), will present an extended map full of details and interactivity. As we know, the preorders were opened in late June also in Italy, but the game will not be available in a physical version: the purchase of the case includes only a download code for the digital version. The leaked information suggests that Rockstar is preparing to offer a particularly thorough experience, with a detailed presentation of the main characters, the dynamics of play and the secondary activities that will animate the virtual world of Ambrosia, Ocean Beach and Grassrivers, culminating near Mount Kalaga. Dre'Quan Priest, Raul Bautista, Boobie Ike and Real Dimez are among the key characters that will be added to the cast, accompanied by figures such as Jason Duval, Lucia Caminos, Cal Hampton and Brian Heder; while the use of vehicles such as Vapid Stanier could help make the experience more dynamic. The world of Only Raw Records will continue to be an important component of the game. Considerando l’orario di trasmissione alle 3:00 del mattino, mi convince poco che la data scelta sia stata fatta pensando al pubblico italiano; non è una sorpresa che gli orari siano in ritardo rispetto all'Italia. L’estensione dell’anteprima a YouTube e ai canali Rockstar, pur essendo un gesto di cortesia, suggerisce che l'obiettivo principale fosse comunque il pubblico americano e europeo del pomeriggio, con l'Italia come "effetto collaterale". Il fatto che l’evento sia programmato alle 21:00 italiane – ovvero, alla fine della giornata lavorativa per la maggior parte degli europei – fa pensare a un'operazione mirata ad attirare i giocatori più appassionati e disposti a sacrificare il proprio sonno per vedere l'anteprima di GTA VI. Quello che noto è che la decisione di avere un’esperienza digitale esclusivamente, anche tramite preordine, rientra perfettamente nelle tendenze di Rockstar negli ultimi capitoli della saga: eliminazione completa della versione fisica per concentrarsi sulla digitalizzazione e sul supporto a lungo termine attraverso microtransazioni (anche se, ad oggi, non sono state menzionate). Il fatto che Ambrosia, Ocean Beach e Grassrivers siano stati nominati specificamente mi fa pensare che la mappa sarà particolarmente dettagliata e diversificata, con aree da esplorare per trovare oggetti nascosti e missioni secondarie. La presenza di figure come Jason Duval suggerisce un'influenza del cinema western nel design del mondo di gioco; non è raro che Rockstar si ispiri a generi diversi per arricchire la sua produzione.
