Microsoft clarifies: GTA VI in cloud not exclusive or on PC

A Tom Warren report indicates that Microsoft will get the rights to stream Grand Theft Auto VI at launch, but Xbox clarifications challenge exclusive agreements and availability on PC. Supported devices and access conditions remain to be defined. As reported, Microsoft is preparing to offer GTA 6 streamed together with the game’s release. Initially, the report suggested an exclusive deal for Xbox Cloud Gaming and the ability to play the title also via cloud on PC, details subsequently corrected by Microsoft. The clarification of Xbox establishes that streaming will not be reserved exclusively to the Xbox Cloud Gaming platform and will not allow to play GTA 6 on PC via cloud. This means that access to the streaming game will remain tied to the Xbox ecosystem, excluding other platforms. Also compatibility with other devices remains uncertain. Detailed information on supported smartphones, TVs or browsers is currently not available. The use limited to Xbox Cloud Gaming consoles is therefore a hypothesis until complete technical requirements are communicated. It is important to distinguish between streaming and Game Pass subscription. GTA 6's cloud availability does not automatically imply its inclusion in the Game Pass catalog, or vice versa. Trade conditions, purchase requirements and precise modes of use of the streaming service remain to be defined. Despite this scenario, the interest in streaming GTA 6 on Xbox Cloud Gaming remains high, especially for those seeking new access to the title. The correction of initial information provides a clearer picture of future possibilities.
