Rockstar Impone Restrizioni al Modding per GTA VI: Missioni Customi e Crossover Sotto Controllo

Rockstar is strengthening control over Grand Theft Auto VI's modding, introducing new guidelines that significantly restrict fans' ability to create external content, custom missions, crossovers with other games and use of external intellectual property. These restrictions, officially published by the company, aim to preserve the integrity of the official narrative of the game. The new rules, released at a crucial time in view of the planned launch for November 19, 2026, establish strict limits to the possibility of expanding or changing key elements of history, missions, characters and settings within the GTA VI universe. This is a significant change compared to the past, when modding allowed the community to create customized campaigns that have turned Los Santos into unthinkable ways. Rockstar's goal is to maintain a clear separation between the official narrative and fan creations. A particularly relevant aspect concerns crossovers with other Rockstar titles. The new guidelines explicitly prohibit the combined use of maps, places, characters, storylines or assets belonging to different company titles. This means that ambitious projects such as the inclusion of Liberty City from GTA IV into GTA VI become problematic. In parallel, restrictions also extend to unauthorized use of external intellectual property. Rockstar places limits on the use of characters, logos, brands, music, images and intellectual property of third-party companies in the game. This could limit the integration of elements such as Batman, Spider-Man, real cars or film vehicles. Despite these restrictions, Rockstar leaves room for modder creativity, but with a more controlled approach. The company undertakes not to automatically remove old mods, but clarifies that use of proprietary assets will be carefully monitored to ensure compliance with the new guidelines and preserve the original gaming experience. The presence of the main duo, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, within the universe of GTA VI, will be managed with maximum attention, ensuring a deep immersion in the world of the game without significant alterations to the plot and gameplay.
