Unveiled GTA VI Development Costs: A Budget from Capogiro

Rockstar Games has invested astronomical figures in developing the long-awaited GTA VI, an open world that promises to redefine the genre. According to recent estimates, the entire project required approximately $2 billion, a sum intended to meet the immense expectations of fans. To give an idea of the scope of the investment, we have compiled a ranking, however semi-sanitary, of works and projects that have required lower budgets, ranging from iconic monuments to movies to other multimedia productions. The scheduled release date is November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The project, born for over 12 years of development (as demonstrated by the success of GTA 5), has seen the use of cutting-edge technologies and the creation of vast environments ranging from the Eiffel Tower to Burj Khalifa, passing through Avatar and Salvador Mundi. Here are the projects that required lower investments: 1. Burj Khalifa * The construction of the world's highest skyscraper resulted in an expenditure of approximately US$1.5 billion, completed in 6 years between 2004 and 2010. 2. **Genshin Impact This popular action RPG open world title demanded an investment of approximately 1 billion dollars. 3. All Avatar movies: Avatar's film saga, with its innovative special effects, has overall estimated costs in 947 million dollars. 4. New Horizons * The space mission New Horizons, which allowed the approach to Pluto, required an investment of approximately 700 million dollars. 5. Sydney Opera House The architectural symbol of Sydney, built between 1959 and 1973, cost around $800 million (currently). 6. Salvator Mundi: Leonardo da Vinci's famous work was purchased for the record figure of $44.3 million in 2017. The extent of investment in GTA VI underlines the ambition of the project and the enormous expectations Rockstar Games sets for its new chapter. Stay tuned for further updates on game development.
