Leak map GTA VI: Rockstar removes island names from $400 collector poster

Rockstar Games modified a promotional image for the new GTA 6 Collector’s Edition after fans spotted it on it with unannounced map positions. The image showed a sign of the map of the set and a part of this map had labels for islands that Rockstar did not officially reveal. What showed the map of the Collector’s Edition of GTA 6 On September 24, Rockstar unveiled Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State, Vice City Collection. It's a $400 physical merchandising set. One of the 11 items in the package is a double-sided map billboard with a map of the fictitious state Leonida, based on Florida where GTA 6 takes place. Fans who examined the store image discovered a group of four islands on the left side of the map. Two of the four islands had complete labels: Sanbars and Crude Islands. Some outlets read the first name as "Sandbars". Notebookcheck reported that fans also found partial labels near the top and bottom of the image, one that started with "Dra" and the other with "Beld". The label "Dra" could refer to Draper Island, a name already connected by a fan mapping project on filming Port Gellhorn. Rockstar changes store image Shortly after the screens were spread on social media, Rockstar updated the store tab and removed the island labels. The island lines remained on the map. Images were shared before and after in a side comparison published on X. Rockstar didn't explain editing. Notebookcheck noted that the reason is unclear, since labels reveal little about the final game, suggesting that the studio wants to show these places in its marketing campaigns before launch. The reaction of online fans was largely focused on the times. Many players pointed out that screenshots of the original photo had already been saved and shared, so removing the labels did not keep private names. The positions of the map GTA 6 located on the billboard How to compare the billboard with previous GTA 6 maps This was not the first look at the GTA 6 map outside the official Rockstar channels. A map called from a previous development build was spread online on August 18, 2026, along with footage of stolen gameplay. Take-Two sent copyright withdrawal requests against copies of these shoots. A 2015 build of the map is also broken in mid-September. Some fans have noticed that the Collector’s Edition map does not match the previous filtered layout, suggesting that Rockstar has changed parts of the map since. The package includes a figure of Macca the Gator, Oakley Frogskins glasses, a New Era 9FORTY snapback cap, a shoulder bag, a shot glass, a keychain, a pin set and a sticker pack.
