Rockstar unveils the first 6 radio stations of GTA VI: a dive in the sound of Leonida

After years of waiting, Rockstar Games finally made the big step by announcing the soundtrack of Grand Theft Auto VI, taking advantage of an unprecedented strategy: a preview on Netflix. The film “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look”, lasted 26 minutes, showed gameplay and the two protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, immersed in the streets of the fictional state of Leonida, inspired by Florida and known as Vice City. The attention was focused on the sound, a key element of the saga, with an eclectic musical selection and rich in nuances. On the hip hop front, the film reproduced impact tracks such as Birdman’s “Pop Bottles” and Lil Wayne’s “Skrilla” by Kodak Black and “Pound Town” by Sexyy Red with Tay Keith. There was no lack of a strong electronic component: Rockstar Games, in collaboration with CircoLoco Records, presented a dedicated radio station, confirming the trapelate voices in previous gameplay footage. The presence of this radio station had already been seen, but the complete list of the stations of the game remains to be known. The film ended with house songs very appreciated as “Mine O’ Mine” by Aluna and Jayda G and “Inner Light” signed by Elderbrook and Bob Moses, underlining the importance of dance in the musical identity of the series. The soundtrack also spans the classics of the 1980s and 1990s: Def Leppard con "Love Bites", Cliff Richard con "Devil Woman", Depeche Mode con “People Are People”, Phil Collins con “Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)”, Bellamy Brothers con “Let Your Love Flow”, Captain & Tennille con “But I Think It’s a Dream” e Prefab Sprout con “Cars and Girls”. For a Latin touch, there are also songs by Chimbala and Omega (“If Me Nota (Agarrame)”) and !!! (“Off the Grid”). It is important to remember that this musical selection represents only the songs heard in the Extended Look. Rockstar has not released the full tracklist of the Grand Theft Auto VI soundtrack yet. The game's release date is set for 19 November 2026.
