Grand Theft Auto VI: Return to Vice City With Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos

Rockstar Games finally confirmed the return of Grand Theft Auto with the release of the first official trailer, accelerating the expected time for the launch of the title. After 13 years since the release of GTA 5, the sequel promises an open world full of crime, set in the modern revisitation of Vice City – the historic city of the island of Miami. The rumors and indiscretions circulating from February 2022, when Rockstar Games announced the development of the next chapter of the saga, are fully confirmed. The game will offer a new open-world experience in a fictional city of Miami, with gameplay focused on Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, the two playable protagonists who will give life to history. For the first time in the series, GTA 6 includes a female protagonist in the main role of single-player mode. The plot will be inspired by the iconic duo Bonnie and Clyde, following the peripecies of the two characters while exploring the city of Leonida, a reference to the title of the film "Heat". The trailer already shows Lucia in prison dresses, suggesting a story full of crimes and espionage. GTA 6 resumes the commercial success of GTA 5, with over 190 million copies sold, and promises to shake the world of video games again. The wait for the official release date is high, while fans are preparing to explore this new chapter of the Grand Theft Auto series. Il ritorno di Vice City è un colpo di scena decisamente mirato e, a giudicare dal trailer, il team di Rockstar ha fatto centro. L’ambientazione, una rivisitazione moderna dell'isola di Miami, gioca subito sulla familiarità del giocatore con l’universo GTA, mitigando forse lo scetticismo che un cambiamento così radicale avrebbe potuto generare. La presenza di Lucia Caminos come protagonista femminile principale rappresenta inoltre un passo avanti importante per la saga, e la sua interpretazione nei panni di una detenuta già suggerisce un approccio alla storia diverso dagli allarmismi che avevano caratterizzato le iterazioni precedenti. L’omaggio a Bonnie e Clyde, amplificato dal riferimento esplicito al film “Heat”, è un'altra mossa intelligente per creare subito un legame con la tradizione narrativa della serie, senza però cadere in cliché o banalità. Il fatto che Jason Duval sia il secondo protagonista giocabile aggiunge ulteriore profondità alla narrazione e apre interessanti possibilità di gameplay.
