Cyberleek Attack Rockstar: Hacker Head Against Digital Copies and GTA VI's "DLC"

The cyberleek hacker collective has spread unpublished material, launching a protest against the commercial choices of Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive. Following Rockstar's next extended look in collaboration with Netflix, the group openly contests the exclusive digital preorders, the existence of the "DLC cards" offered only in the Ultimate editions, and the decision not to release a physical version of GTA VI. Cyberleek has published a three-point manifesto that denounces these practices as harmful to consumers and devoid of overalls. The group marked each frame with watermarks that flaunt the "player rights struggle", motivating data theft as a reaction to the company's policies. The three key points of the manifesto are: the contestation of exclusively digital preorders, the accusation of “DLC players” (referring to the Ultimate edition with cosmetic content), and the denunciation of the lack of physical presence of the game in stores, fearing the loss of access to the single player campaign in the future. Cyberleek concluded the document with a warning for the entire video industry, threatening further leaks of news against publishers who abandon physical support. The motivation behind this action is the subject of online discussion: some interpret the protest as genuine defense of the rights of players, while others suggest that it is a finding to monetize through references to cryptocurrencies in the watermarks. Rockstar Games is once again at the centre of the attention of the cyber groups, after an earlier attempt to extort another collective. It remains to see what the new images and videos of the game will reveal on November 19, 2026.
