GTA VI: Dynamic Weather in Arduum Realism - Vice City under the Tropical Temples

Using dynamic weather – with tropical storms and hurricanes – will be a key element in the game experience of Grand Theft Auto VI. As highlighted by Game Informer, the weather system, set in the Florida-inspired region called Leonida, will not be a simple scenographic background, but will actively influence the missions and the gaming environment. According to Rockstar Games' technical manager Owen Shepherd, the physics of the wind has been completely reworked to accurately simulate marine breezes, ascension currents and air effects impeded by skyscrapers. This will result in an impressive visual impact: strong winds will spread debris, move the hair of the protagonists and alter the vegetation of the swamps, while the ripples on the water will react to the force of the winds. In the most intense moments of bad weather, the game will combine dense clouds, flying rain and three-dimensional atmospheric effects, with water drops that fall realistically from lamps and buildings, illuminated by lightning. Although the frequency of hurricanes and the impact on the main plot have not yet been defined, the ambition of Rockstar Games is to create an open world as alive, chaotic and realistic as possible from the atmospheric point of view. The game will see protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos in the most dramatic moments of this new era of action.
