The wait for GTA 6 has almost come to an end, less than two months are missing at the release of the next eneration of the Grand Theft Auto series on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A former Rockstar Games employee, Jérémy Hartvick, issued statements to Kiwi Talkz raising doubts about the possibility of a porting on Nintendo Switch 2. According to Hartvick, the huge open world of GTA 6 would require colossal optimization by Rockstar, a job that, from its point of view, would make little sense and would result in excessive compromise of the gaming experience. He also expressed doubts about the size of potential audience on Switch 2 for a title like GTA 6, while recognizing the commercial success of titles such as GTA Trilogy, L.A. Noire and Red Dead Redemption on hybrid consoles. Hartvick does not exclude a priori porting via Cloud Streaming, considering the idea "not entirely ridiculous". The former developer admitted that Rockstar could entrust the optimization of such a complex porting to an external study to avoid bottlenecks and ensure the best possible experience. The question of a native porting on Switch 2 remains therefore open, even with the reservations expressed by Hartvick on the feasibility of the operation.
