Daft Punk at Fortnite Festival? The latest indiscretions on the return of the duo
According to some voices leaked from internal sources to the video game, the Daft Punk could go back to performing together, but exclusively within the Fortnite Festival musical mode. X @StreamFNBR user, a well-known video game-related noise expert, fueled speculation suggesting that the French duo could be the main artist of the next event in the game. It is a moment awaited by millions of fans since 2021, when Daft Punk announced the dissolution with the videoclip “Epilogue”. From their retirement from the scenes, after a performance at the Grammy Awards in 2007, the duo limited itself to releasing archive material and alternative versions of their works. A virtual return would represent the first official performance of the duo since 2007. Fortnite's interest in music began to grow with Travis Scott's performance in 2020 during the lockdown period. Since then, many international artists, including Eminem, Diplo, Lady Gaga, The Weeknd and many others, have offered virtual concerts within the game. Despite the rumors, at the moment there were no official confirmations neither from Epic Games, developers of Fortnite, nor from the French duo. It remains to be seen if this virtual collaboration will become reality.
