GTA VI: Rockstar points to the dynamic world and to the relationship between Jason & Lucia – Exclusive Details

Grand Theft Auto VI will not limit itself to expanding the map of Liberty City: Rockstar Games strives to create a responsive environment to player actions, also transforming simpler choices into complex plots. Rob Nelson, responsible for the development and co-responsible of Rockstar North, said this during a demo played by IGN. At the center of the experience will find Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, the two playable protagonists of the series. Their love relationship will not be imposed: the couple will cooperate in the crime, but the player can choose whether to deepen their bond by spending time together even outside the missions. A robbery, a trip to Leonida or simply responding to a message will help maintain the relationship, affecting the plot in still dark ways for developers. Even when the protagonists are not under direct control, they will maintain their own routine, being called, texted and met. During the exploration, they will intervene in clashes or help in escape. The cooperation between Jason and Lucia will be managed by the game systems, making spontaneous scenes that in the past would seem rigid. A significant change concerns the police. A crime must be detected by a witness or reported by an alarm before triggering law enforcement. Agents will use all available information: appearance of suspects, clothes, vehicles or even the presence of a couple. Changing clothing or leaving the scene quickly will become a tactic to avoid arrest. The level of suspicion will affect police behavior. An abandoned area could be guarded, making it risky to return. Rockstar seems to reward quick blows and clean escapes, without limiting the possibility of creating chaos. At the same time, a criminal profile will be developed distinct from that of Red Dead Redemption 2, without imposing a correct morality. It will be possible to threaten, force to escape, put out combat or kill a character, with a larger escalation scale than the past. Even theft of vehicles will be deeper: some models will require tools unlocked through history (such as a grimaldello or a key cloner), while others will be accessible from the beginning.
