GTA VI: Rockstar aims at the reactivity of the world and the link between Jason and Lucia – Discover a new depth of gameplay

Grand Theft Auto VI will not limit itself to offering an extended map: Rockstar Games strives to create an environment that reacts dynamically to player choices, transforming even simple deviations into complex narratives. To clarify this approach is Rob Nelson, head of development and co-responsible Rockstar North, during a recent demo played by developers for IGN. At the center of the experience will be the relationship between Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, two playable protagonists. The romantic component will not be imposed: the two partners in the crime will be able to cultivate their relationship by devoting time together outside the missions – a robbery, an exploration to Leonida or even a simple conversation through message – with consequences on the still secret plot for developers. Even in the absence of control, Jason and Lucia will maintain their own routine: they can be called, texted and met, intervening in the clashes or collaborating in the escapes. This cooperation managed by game systems will try to make spontaneous scenes that in the past would seem rigid and scripted. A key change concerns the police. A crime must be reported by an alarm or seen by someone before triggering an order force response, which will work on the available information: suspect appearance, clothing, vehicle used, even the presence of a couple. Changing clothing or leaving the area quickly will become a tactic to lose its tracks. The empty stars of the level of suspicion will indicate that a crime has been detected but not yet identified. Just abandoned areas could be guarded, making it risky to return to the place immediately. Rockstar seems to reward quick blows and clean escapes, without limiting the chance to unleash the typical chaos of the series. A criminal profile separated from the relationship between Jason and Lucia will not be a copy of the honor of Red Dead Redemption 2, but will record the way you behave, affecting the reactions of the world and some narrative developments. In the clashes one may threaten a character, force him to retreat, put him out of combat or kill him, with a larger escalation scale than the past. Even theft of vehicles will gain more depth: some will require tools unlocked through history (grimaldello or key cloner), while others will be available from the beginning.
