GTA VI: Preordini Superano Every Expectation – But they do not reach the Miliardo!

GTA VI is considered one of the most ambitious and expected video games of the entire decade. The commercial expectations that accompany the new chapter of the Rockstar Games series were high, with some analysts speculating revenues greater than billion dollars through the preorders alone. However, the first data reported by the Newzoo analysis company show a different scenario. While confirming numbers significantly higher than those normally recorded by the video industry, initial bookings would not yet have reached the billionaire figure indicated by some indiscretions. According to the estimates of Newzoo, GTA 6 would have generated around 260 million dollars globally during the first week of opening preorders, corresponding to the last week of June. Of this sum, approximately 180 million dollars would prove from digital sales recorded in the United States and in the five major European markets: United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany and Spain. To calculate global estimate, Newzoo compared data with GTA 5. Approximately 69% of console players in the previous chapter came from the six territories examined. Applying the same proportion to GTA 6 bookings, Newzoo has earned a global estimate close to $ 260 million. This is a considerable amount, but is just over a quarter of the billion dollars indicated by some forecasts circulated online. According to Newzoo, thinking that a video game could reach a similar recess in the first week of preorders, with the launch still distant several months, would be unrealistic. The company has openly rejected the reconstructions spread on social media, underlining how the traditional trend of bookings does not make it plausible to reach a billion dollars in such an early stage of the commercial campaign. Despite the failure to reach the billion threshold, the success of GTA 6 remains impressive: the estimated 260 million dollars would represent, according to Newzoo, the best start ever recorded by a booking campaign in the video market. The launch projections are even more significant. GTA 6 could generate between $3.3 and $5.2 billion by the end of the first week of marketing, establishing what could become the biggest debut in video game history. The central scenario developed by the company previews the sale of approximately 51 million copies within the first seven days, with an average price of 88 dollars per unit. In this case, the total turnover would reach approximately 4.5 billion dollars.
