Rockstar launches a "show" on Netflix for GTA VI: Strauss Zelnick's surprising response

Grand Theft Auto VI is preparing to exit the boundaries of traditional video-ludic marketing. On August 6, Rockstar Games announced Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, a special that will debut exclusively on Netflix on August 27 at 21:00 Italian time and will remain available on the platform for six hours, before arriving on the official channels of the studio. The content of this "show", still wrapped in mystery, promises an unpublished experience compared to the usual trailers dedicated to the game. The most interesting detail is the choice of Netflix as a launch platform. Rockstar in fact seems willing to build around GTA 6 a real TV show, taking advantage of the language and format typical of the streaming platform. As Strauss Zelnick confirmed, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, during an interview with Bloomberg, the intention is to create “an unmissable event”. Journalist Jason Schreier asked Zelnick directly if the special was designed to give spectators the feeling of watching a real Netflix program, rather than the usual promotional video game. The answer was simply: “Yes.” This confirmation has fueled speculations on the format of the "show": we talk about an extended presentation of the game, insights on the development, behind the scenes or even a documentary, which could combine different elements to create an autonomous product, also accessible by those who do not follow the world of video games closely. A further saving opportunity is offered by the purchases of the Instant Gaming discounted PlayStation Store and Xbox Gift Cards, which lower the cost of the GTA 6 preorder using the credit obtained to complete the purchase on your console.
