Rockstar Games has released new details on the weather system of GTA VI, anticipating how changing weather conditions will shape the world of Leonida. The dynamics of time and its passages through different locations have already triggered extensive discussions among fans. In a new interview for Game Informer, the developer confirmed that GTA VI will include extreme weather conditions, including localized tropical storms and violent hurricanes throughout the vast map. Fans were surprised by the addition of hurricanes in the upcoming game. @nothaileybrooks commented: "Omg, this will be so realistic," and said he needed a "new hurricane survival kit" when he's playing. Another player, @adv vkr, reacted: “Uragani a Vice City? The guide has become more dangerous.” Similarly, @realdreafox fan praised creators for their work in designing real conditions and described new mechanics as a "game change". The GTA 6 weather system is designed to make the world feel like a real part rather than a simple background or an on/off switch. Rain can be localized, so that an area of Leonida has a rain while the other remains sunny. Players will see the rainy NPCs and will also notice small puddles near the street lights and corners. The wind system also received a lot of attention. The gusts can move the hair and debris on the roofs, ripple the water and bend the grass into the marshes of Leonida. "We redesigned our weather system to make everything much more localized and persistent and we really wanted the world to feel dynamically solid and get a sense of scale we never tried before," said Tom Shepherd, co-director of study at Rockstar San Diego. Grand Theft Auto VI will be launched on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026.
