GTA VI: Exclusive Netflix Trailer - Contraddittorie Reactions from Community

Today, August 7, 2026, the announcement of the deal between Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive, developers and publishers of GTA VI, and the Netflix streaming platform has created a stir in the gaming industry, sparking conflicting reactions in the global community. Rockstar has released the third trailer expected for the game, entitled “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look (in Italy known as “A long preview”), which will be available worldwide on Netflix on August 27 at 21:00 Italian (15:00 ET). The content, which promises an in-depth analysis of the real gameplay of Vice City and the open world structure, will remain exclusive to Netflix subscribers for six hours, before being made available free of charge on the official YouTube channel of Rockstar Games. The reactions of GTA VI fans and criticism of the strategy of temporary exclusive immediately made their voice on social media, Reddit and industry forums. Many fans expressed disappointment that a promotional material of the game, intended to advertise it, was made available only after Netflix subscription. Among the main criticisms are accusations of aggressive greed and monetization, with the dissatisfaction for the idea of having to pay a subscription to preview the advertising of a video game already widely preordered. The controversy is added to discussions about the digital availability of the game and the increase in the prices of high-end titles. Market analysts stress that the agreement is part of the Netflix expansion strategy in the video industry, while the specialized press provides for free preview use after the six-hour window.
