A shocking number: 600,000 different animations to give life to an entire imaginary state, from the activity of passers-by to marine creatures that populate the waters of Leonida, passing through the auto traffic on the highways. This is the fact that he is doing the web tour after the premiere presentation of GTA 6 on Netflix, and that shows how the new chapter of the Rockstar Games saga is predicted as an unprecedented work in the video industry. According to a study published by the New York Times, entitled “GTA 6: An Extended Look”, the Texas developers revealed that every gesture, movement and interaction in the game map is supported by an unprecedented animation work. To understand the scope of this figure, it compares with the data of GTA 5 (55.000 animations) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (300.000), resulting ten times higher than the latter and double compared to GTA 5 – a quantum leap considering how already GTA 5 appeared dirt and alive at its debut, more than ten years ago. Aaron Garbut, artistic director of Rockstar North and co-responsible of the studio, underlined the company's productive philosophy: to take care of detail until obsession. Each environment of the game has been designed with a precise thought, a targeted narrative choice. As he explained, "Every room of the game was thought by someone." The attention also extends to the smallest details, such as paintings hanging on the walls depicting people living in that room, with tattoos and family members. Garbut describes this creative process as almost artisanal, despite the huge scale of the project, underlining that each element was "created, built, photographed and placed" accurately. Moreover, Rockstar has confirmed a complete renewal of the research system, present since the first chapters of the saga, promising an even more immersive and dynamic experience.
