Grand Theft Auto VI will be launched without an online multiplayer mode. Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that the main game experience, scheduled for November 19, 2026, is designed exclusively for the single player. The protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos will bring players into the new imaginary state of Leonida, offering an open world to explore without the presence of other online users. Although a multiplayer version has not been excluded in the future, Rockstar has not communicated precise dates or details about the potential online expansion of GTA 6. Several sources – including Take-Two Interactive's official pre-order announcement of 24 June 2026, also confirmed in a second announcement of 24 June 2026 and product information from PlayStation Store – have repeatedly reiterated that the game will be launched only as a single player experience. The information was also relaunched by Twitch CEO Dan Clancy in September 2026, which suggested a possible arrival of the multiplayer mode in 2027. At the time of launch, players will live the new criminal saga through the main plot following Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Anyone hoping to immediately immerse themselves in an open world shared with friends will have to wait for further communications from Rockstar Games regarding the dates, features and future potential of GTA 6 Online.
