Rockstar confirmed the existence of a Collector's Edition for Grand Theft Auto VI, prompting conflicting reactions. The most striking news was the presentation of the “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection”, a package full of merchandising inspired by the world of the game, but that, unlike what you might expect, does not include the basic game. Buyers will then have to buy it separately. According to information published on Rockstar’s official website, The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection is a “Collector’s Box Premium with all the essential entertainment items, inspired by the TV success of Leonida, Macca and the caimán”. The package, in limited circulation, is already available in the store of Rockstar at the price of 399.99 €. The product card includes a notice that is feeding the debate on social media: “Note: the game Grand Theft Auto VI is sold separately.” The final cost would rise to €79.99 or €99.99, depending on the Standard or Ultimate Edition version chosen by the user. Despite the absence of the game, the Goodtime State – Vice City Collection includes the typical objects of a traditional Collector’s Edition: exclusive items, pins, stickers and a poster with the map of Leonida. Here is the complete content of the premium box: * Figure of Macca, crocodile * Oakley Frogskins sunglasses * Cayos Marsupio of Leonida * Adjustable Hat New Era 9 FORTY * Macca magnetic mirror, crocodile * Chunkee Shot Glass, the Manatí * Collectable cocktail spoon of Vice City * Keyring blade of Vice City ♪ Cayos enamelled pins of Leonida in a metal can * Wall decals of the Cayos of Leonida in a bag * Poster double side souvenir with map of Leonida The presentation of the Goodtime State – Vice City Collection immediately lit an online debate. Many players are disappointed by the fact that such a rich collectible edition does not include the game, which would justify the cost. The community quickly assessed the content and considered the proposal not justified by the price of 399.99 €. This case recalls that already seen with Red Dead Redemption 2, where Rockstar adopted a similar strategy, releasing a Collector's Edition rich in merchandising without including the game. Additional extras for GTA VI were announced just a few days ago: Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the official soundtrack created in collaboration with...
