John Ricchio previews an Open World "Mostruoso" for GTA 6: the map will be key?

Former producer Rockstar Games, John Ricchio, released an opinion on how it could be the map of Grand Theft Auto VI, betting on an open world “mode” in terms of size and detail. While pointing out that his statements are based on his experience and do not reveal confidential information about the development of the game, Ricchio believes that Rockstar could surprise even without focusing solely on the geographical extent. The former producer, known for working on successful titles such as Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3, suggests that the real revolution could reside in the density of the open world: more vibrant cities, details-rich environments, realistic activities and a higher level of interaction than previous chapters. The discussion about the size of the map of GTA 6, which involves analysis of the trailers, comparisons with GTA V and maps created by fans, is now a constant in the community, and the intervention of Ricchio further feeds the wait for the launch of the game on 19 November 2026. The main area of interest will therefore be the density of the open world, an element that could offer a credible experience without necessarily requiring a gigantic map. The conversations focus on Port Gellhorn, Grassrivers, Mount Kalaga and Ambrosia, but also on the new Vice City and Ocean Beach. The focus is on Rockstar's possible choices regarding the density of open world.
