Spot TV GTA 6: Differences between the trailer and advertising spots – News GTA VI

Rockstar has modified its TV commercials for GTA 6 compared to the trailer, highlighting significant differences that fans have identified. GTA 6 TV spots, created from the launch fragman, are not identical to the original trailer. Fans noticed changes in content and the absence of the Xbox logo, details that aroused great interest in the community. We analyze the differences: the 30-second version has two significant cuts: the shower scene with Jason and Lucia has been completely removed, a standard decision for early-time television spots. In addition, the Xbox logo has been eliminated, consistent with the advertising agreement between Rockstar and Sony, since the game will be available on Xbox Series X|S from November 19, but Sony prefers to avoid the promotion of Xbox in TV spots. The essence of change lies in the fact that these cuts do not only create narrative voids, but require that the remaining scenes be elongated to fill the space. The helicopter's frame takes more time on the screen and the moments when Jason caresses Lucia and Lucia are almost tripped. Although apparently small details, these are catalogued with the meticulousness of an expert by GTA fans. The 90-second version restores the shower scene and includes the elongated sequences of the helicopter and the car in the 30-second version. This spot represents an intermediate point between the original trailer and the cut version for television. Despite the lack of the Xbox logo on TV spots, it is certain that GTA 6 will be available on both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S from November 19th. What implications do they have with Sony and Rockstar’s marketing strategy? The removal of the Xbox logo from the TV commercial is a strategic move from Rockstar, which does not hide the presence of the Xbox version, but prefers advertising campaigns dedicated to the PlayStation platform. Although these agreements are common in the sector, the size of the GTA 6 campaign makes it particularly evident. The marketing strategy extends beyond TV spots: Rockstar has opened the real pop-up store of Burger Shot and Cluckin’ Bell where you can buy GTA themed food, a clear indicator of the fact that the budget dedicated to the promotion of GTA 6 is considerably higher than that of a normal game.
