The Source: Cocaine and Wild Life at Vice City – New Information on the expected GTA VI

Rockstar Games continues to keep the nuances of Grand Theft Auto VI secret, but a supposed PEGI 18 rating may have lifted the veil on how far the study is pushing in Vice City. A description of the PEGI 18 evaluation published online described the use of drugs in the GTA 6 as "frequent and prominent", including an interactive mechanic for cocaine that goes well beyond a simple film scene. According to the description, players can bring illegal drugs into their inventory and use them during regular gameplay, including with other characters. Cocaine can be blown "directly from the hand at any time". Rockstar did not confirm the effect of cocaine on the gameplay. Fans have already theorized that drugs could work as temporary statistics bonuses, similar to items like cocaine rubber in Red Dead Redemption 2. The filtered PEGI evaluation also paints a very adult picture of Rockstar's return to Vice City. Graphic violence includes lesions, beheadings and amputations depending on the weapons used. The game is also said to contain nudity, sexual intercourse and sexual fetish representations, as well as private clubs and dances on commission. A strong obscenity and discriminatory language are reported throughout radio and in-game television programming. If this sounds like Rockstar that's all about Miami, the studio has done a lot of research. Programmers conducted research together with Florida police officers, gang members and people working within dance clubs while studying the environment and culture that would shape GTA 6. Some of these real-world encounters have been described as "terrifici". Now the advertising machine seems ready to make Vice City bigger than the gaming industry. The Miami Heat are expected to wear GTA 6 theme jerseys against the Milwaukee Bucks on November 18 for “Vice City” night. Timing would be almost absurd. Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, putting the NBA activation exactly one day before launch. This means that Rockstar could effectively transform a real basketball game in Miami into a final countdown for its fictional version of the city. After years of waiting, leaks of news and attention record to the trailers, GTA 6 approaches the point where Rockstar no longer needs to create the hype. Between an NBA crossover, an increasingly detailed Vice City and gameplay that allows players to randomly pull cocaine from their inventory, on November 19 is taking the form of a cultural event more than a traditional game launch.
