Rockstar: Each Room of GTA VI Created in Hand, Unique Details for Every NPC

Rockstar has invested an incredible amount of resources in creating GTA VI, placing emphasis on a manual and detailed approach in every aspect of the game. As Aaron Garbutt points out, Rockstar North co-responsible and artistic director of the series, each room within the game was individually realized by development teams, without procedural simplifications. Attention also extends to non-playable characters (NPC). A dedicated team meticulously treated the appearance and behavior of the inhabitants of Leonida, refusing to rely on the automatic generation. Each room has been built by hand, with a manic attention to details that goes beyond what most players will ever notice. For example, developers included traces of objects on the tables and photographs in the rooms that represent people who were actually there. Character customizations – tattoos, family relationships – were very well cared for. This approach differs from the model used in GTA V, where the behavior of characters after an interaction was often predictable and superficial. In GTA VI, the environment should react much more dynamically to events, as demonstrated by the recent 26-minute demo showing more complex interactions between players, NPCs and law enforcement. Rockstar has dedicated a huge effort to creating animations, with over 600,000 different animated sequences within the game. This number exceeds ten times that in GTA V (55.000) and almost double Red Dead Redemption 2 (300.000). This level of detail aims to create a deeply immersive and responsive gaming world, with realistic consequences for player actions.
