The new trailer of Grand Theft Auto VI, called “An Extended Look – A Long Preview”, will debut exclusively on Netflix Thursday, August 27 at 21:00 Italian time. As anticipated by Rockstar Games, this first access will be limited to six hours, available only for Netflix subscribers. Subsequently, the full movie will be released on YouTube and on the official website of the videogame (rockstar games.com). The preview offers an in-depth look on the setting of Vice City and Port Gellhorn, as well as on the mechanics of play with the presence of the new characters: Jason Duval, Lucia Caminos, Cal Hampton, Raul Bautista, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, Real Dimez and Brian Heder. The trailer also presents key elements of the plot, including activities related to Vapid Stanier and Only Raw Records. The game's release date remains fixed on 19 November 2026. La scelta di focalizzarsi su Vice City e Port Gellhorn mi convince poco. Dopo l’hype per Grassrivers e Mount Kalaga durante i precedenti trailer, questo cambio di rotta – anche se giustificato dall’ambientazione di GTA V – mi sembra un tentativo di creare una maggiore novità. E' vero che l'attrazione per Vice City è ancora forte tra i fan della saga, ma temo che la riproposizione di un'ambientazione così iconica senza nuove meccaniche o storie possa risultare stantia. Il fatto che il filmato sia limitato a sei ore mi fa anche pensare che Rockstar voglia gestire al meglio l’attenzione del pubblico, anticipando forse qualche criticità legata alla complessità del gioco. L'inclusione di personaggi come Jason Duval e Raul Bautista suggerisce un tentativo di aggiungere profondità narrativa, ma non ho ancora la sensazione che stiano entrando in scena con un impatto significativo – spero di sbagliarmi. Mi chiedo se l'utilizzo dei veicoli Vapid Stanier e Only Raw Records sia una vera introduzione nel gameplay o solo un'occasione per mostrare l'estetica del gioco, dato il tema generale della "lavorazione". Resta da vedere quanto queste informazioni concrete possano contribuire a definire la trama.
