GTA VI fans who hoped they could play the new title through Xbox Cloud Gaming on PC will reconsider their expectations. Microsoft has made it clear that Grand Theft Auto 6 will not be available in streaming on PC through the Xbox Cloud Gaming platform, despite the above. The news comes in the wake of a previous announcement regarding the exclusive acquisition of streaming rights by Xbox, fueled by the enthusiasm around the launch of the game on November 19, 2026. The confirmation came from Xbox Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball, who responded to an article published on The Verge. Ball explained how enthusiasm for GTA VI and Xbox had generated some inaccuracies in reports. His full statement read: “Although the enthusiasm for GTA 6 and Xbox is fantastic to see, it also led to some misinformation. We are excited about the launch of GTA 6 on Xbox on November 19, although the game will not be streamed exclusively or on PC”. This means, with regret for players on PC, that you will not have to expect to start Xbox Cloud Gaming on November 19 and wander without consoles on the streets of Vice City. The confusion comes at a particularly interesting time for Xbox Cloud Gaming, with Microsoft making significant changes to the service in November, including the introduction of a pay-as-you-go system and the change of time available for cloud gaming in the different levels of Game Pass. Rockstar has still announced a PC version of GTA 6, officially confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A streaming deal could have offered players on PC a way to play the game at launch without waiting for the release date of the PC version of GTA 6. The former criminal military Jason Duval and the talented Lucia Caminos will be at the center of the action in the title that promises to redefine the open-world genre.
