Ex developer GTA 5 provides for a possible postponement of GTA VI: "It wouldn't be a problem for Rockstar"
A former developer of Grand Theft Auto 5, Mike York, believes that a further postponement of the game's release date, scheduled for November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, would not represent a damage to Rockstar Games. York, who worked on the animation of GTA 5, gave his considerations to Indy100: "After working at GTA 5, based on my previous experiences, they could postpone it once again." According to York, if during the final stage of the game issues such as bugs or imperfections in the final mission emerge, Rockstar would not hesitate to postpone the release of six months. “I wouldn’t be surprised,” he said. "If they need to do what they need to do, they'll do it." Despite the potential uncertainty, York believes that Rockstar would not be compromised and, given the chaos resulting from the date of departure of the competitors, which postponed its game in order to play GTA VI, would not see any problem. The author of Danganronpa is only an example of the consequences of a delay in the release of the title.
