Rockstar could raise L.A. Dread after GTA VI? A new case in San Francisco

An indiscretion, resumed in the last hours, suggests that Rockstar could return to the investigative genre of L.A. Noire, set in the San Francisco of the years of the Zodiac case, with an advanced facial technology. The noise, originally published on GTA Forums in December 2023 and now refurbished by Instant Gaming News, indicates that the project would be contemplated as a possible Rockstar title following GTA VI. An investigation into the Zodiac Killer History would take place in the 1970s San Francisco, at the center of one of the most famous criminal mysteries in northern California: the case of Zodiac Killer, the killer who between the end of the 1960s and the beginning of the 1970s, set terror with a series of unresolved murders. The core of the game would be the hunt for the identity of the killer, transforming the investigative experience into a direct involvement in a story linked to a truly unresolved mystery. Avant-garde facial technology It would not be a simple return to the past. According to the information, Rockstar would like to resume the facial acquisition system used in the L.A. Original noire (2011), significantly improving it. The goal would be to achieve an unprecedented level of detail and realism, as foreseen for GTA VI. Technology could be one of the distinctive elements of the project, consistent with the innovative approach that characterized the first L.A. Noire, especially known for the quality of facial reproductions during interrogations. There are currently no official Rockstar Games listings for a new L.A. Noire. The noise remains speculation, but reflects the company's interest in experimenting with new genres and technologies.
