GTA VI: Vice City Redesigned and Protagonist Couple at Gameplay Center
GTA 6, the great reveal: Rockstar shows almost 30 minutes of gameplay and still raises the stick. The Extended Look confirms that Rockstar aims to transform Vice City into the new point of reference for open worlds. From the complex dynamics between Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos to the innovative police system more evolved, passing through sophisticated robberies, the integration of social networks, a myriad of secondary activities and an open world even more dynamic and responsive, the GTA 6 video – exclusively distributed on Netflix before being released on the official channels of Rockstar – offers an unprecedented look on the future of the series. And the feeling, after seeing it, is clear: GTA 6 does not seem to want to be simply an evolution of GTA V; Rockstar is aiming to create a deeply more immersive and credible gaming experience, where the game world reacts unpredictablely to the player's actions. Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are the core of experience. It is not just selectable characters, but a couple around which Rockstar built much of the narrative structure and gameplay. The Extended Look shows several moments when the two collaborate during robberies, shootings and escapes from the police, moving together or separately depending on the need. The player can then choose to explore the world with both, or temporarily devote to one of the two activities, making the most of the different characters' abilities. According to IGN's advances, the relationship between Jason and Lucia is not necessarily bound to a single romantic direction, offering the player a freedom of choice. The setting is strongly inspired by contemporary Florida, with Vice City that acts as a pulsating heart and a vast landscape ranging from urban areas to rural areas, passing by coasts, marshes and islands. The scale of the playable area is impressive: according to Rockstar's New York Times, the map would be about three times larger than Red Dead Redemption 2. A game test session would take about 80 hours to complete the main story and all optional content. The research system has been further developed, officially returning the six-star system, but with an intelligence of the forces of the order significantly higher: the patrols react more dynamically to the actions of the player, making every escape and pursuit a concrete challenge.
