Witch the Showdown, new indie with roguelike fights, comes the same day as GTA VI

On November 19, 2026 is a crucial moment for the video game industry, given the expected GTA 6 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S by Rockstar Games. In this context, Witch the Showdown, an individual game developed by CitalesGames and published by Perp Games, chose the same day for its early access release on PC. According to SteamDB data, the game will be available from 19 November now Italian (UTC), although on the Steam page the date is indicated as 18 November due to the time zone. Witch the Showdown does not aim to compete directly with the huge success of GTA 6 for size and popularity. This is an indie game focused on players who appreciate a deep combat mechanics. What distinguishes Witch the Showdown is the combination of parades with a roguelike-card game system to build decks. Battles require players to accurately calculate parade times to accumulate mana, and then use skill cards and real-time counterattacks against powerful opponents. The setting of the game is a futuristic world where magic and technology coexist, and witches participate in extremely complex fights. In addition to the main combat system, the game offers five levels of difficulty and mode "Duello" and "Torneo", which offer additional options for players who like to test their responsiveness or develop strategies. The free demo available on Steam scored 92% positively based on 57 reviews, indicating positive feedback despite the limited number of ratings. CitalesGames stated that the Arly Access will allow the studio to perfect the game based on community feedback and plans to add new characters, enemies and maps before the release of the full version scheduled for 2027. The choice to release Witch the Showdown on the same day as GTA 6, despite limiting media attention, has however attracted the interest of the community of players. While most fans are focused on Vice City, this indie game hopes to find its niche on Steam thanks to its ability-based combat system and strategy.
