Rob Nelson from Rockstar: "GTA 6 will be more similar to Red Dead Redemption 2"

After Rockstar admitted that he had not revealed all the secrets of GTA 6, the co-responsible Rockstar North, Rob Nelson, made a comparison between the vast freedom of exploration of Leonida and that offered by Red Dead Redemption 2, underlining the importance of the main campaign and the open world experience of the new game. As in RDR 2, Leonida will be the fulcrum of GTA 6? Nelson clarified that the world of GTA 6 will be as crucial as the main plot, and even wider. The goal is that players fully identify themselves with Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, immersing themselves not only in missions but also in the free exploration of the vast open world. This approach, according to Nelson, aims to overcome the experiences offered by GTA 5, where exploration, although present, was often limited by the personalities and events of main history. Nelson also specified that, in addition to exploration, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos will be able to devote themselves to open world activities consistent with their narrative, how to earn money, solve trouble or strengthen their relationship, or venture into robberies and thefts. The goal is to create an immersive and dynamic experience, comparable to that offered by Red Dead Redemption 2, where the player’s actions had a significant impact on history and the surrounding world. The development team intends to amplify the madness of reality in the world of GTA 6, thus creating a unique and unforgettable experience for players who will start exploring Ocean Beach, Grassrivers, Mount Kalaga and Port Gellhorn from November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
