GTA VI or L.A. Noire 2? Rumor Bet on San Francisco and Zodiac Killer

An indiscretion, resurfaced after years of voices, suggests that Rockstar Games could devote itself to a sequel to L.A. Noire, set in the 1960s and focused on hunting the serial killer Zodiac Killer. With the upcoming launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, the world of video games is questioned about the next direction of the franchise. Although waiting for Red Dead Redemption 3 is still high, several sources indicate that L.A. Noire 2 could represent the first title in working. The information comes from a series of leaks of 4chan news in 2023 and later filmed on the GTAForums. The project involves a change of scenery in San Francisco, with the plot focused on the investigation of the case of the Zodiac Killer. The reliability of speculation is strengthened considering the initial forecasts of the same leaker regarding GTA 6: the system of dynamic relationships between the protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, dependent on the choices of the player, has been carefully implemented in the game. Despite the widespread enthusiasm, it is important to consider that it is always a noise. In addition, initial estimates for L.A. Noire 2, previously spoken in 2023, provided for an exit by 2030, a timing judged excessively optimistic due to Rockstar Games' commitment to GTA VI and its additional content. The statements of Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick, during the iicon event, confirm a constant monitoring of historical IPs: “There is nothing to announce specifically about L.A. Noire, and if there were, it would be Rockstar to do it. ” Despite this, interest in the noir franchise remains high, fueled by the chance to review Rockstar's detectives in a new thriller set in the 1960s. It remains to be seen whether this speculation will result in a concrete reality...
