GTA VI: The Unexpected Climate of Vice City – Tempeste Forti e Leonida

By GTA6 Hub editorial team

If you thought that in GTA VI only beaches, palm trees and postcard sunsets await you, Rockstar Games is about to surprise you. The game will have an advanced weather system, designed to recreate the less favourable climate conditions of Florida. The confirmation comes from Game Informer, which has dedicated to the title a cover story of 14 pages through interviews with several lead designers of Rockstar Games. To sign the article is Marcus Stewart, originally from South Florida, who anticipated some of the topics addressed together with developers. These include features never previously illustrated and advanced weather systems designed to simulate less sunny weather phenomena in the area. In short, the sky above Vice City could reserve several surprises. The ambition of GTA VI does not include only Vice City, but the immense imaginary state of Leonida, openly inspired by Florida. A choice that seems to have pushed Rockstar to work not only on the aesthetic reconstruction of the places, but also on the natural characteristics of the area. Game Informer speaks explicitly of “advanced weather systems”, explaining that they will be able to simulate particularly violent storms, tropical storms and even hurricanes – weather phenomena to consider for the gameplay. It remains to be seen where Rockstar will decide to go with this new system, evaluating the consequences on the gameplay: the weather could affect the guide, visibility, the NPCs, fauna, and even the performance of certain activities. The creation of a culturally and aesthetically accurate virtual world as they aim to achieve is an ambition that should not be limited to cities and premises, but extend to the fauna present in this imaginary state of Leonida.
