Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed that the extended teaser trailer of Grand Theft Auto VI, coming on Netflix on August 27, 2026, represents only a taste of the real ambitions of the game. Speaking at Gamesindustry.biz, Zelnick defined the approach on the streaming platform a “hors d’œuvre”, stressing that marketing initiatives for GTA 6 are intended to intensify in the following months. Take-Two's top boss also reiterated the intention of the game to dominate all social networks globally, prelude to a capillary advertising campaign and without exclusion of hits. It remains to be seen what surprises will take place between September and October 2026, when there is an increase in promotional activities dedicated to the launch of the game scheduled for November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Parla di una “serie di eventi promozionali più ampi”, di un “antipasto, il piatto principale e il dessert”. La frase "dessert" mi fa pensare a qualcosa di particolarmente ambito come magari un evento live dedicato o, anche se meno probabile, una versione espansa del gioco con contenuti aggiuntivi. L'idea che Netflix sia solo l'inizio mi fa sorridere – è esattamente la strategia che si aspettava la community quando ha saputo dell'accordo, eppure Zelnick sembra voler creare un’ulteriore suspense. Il fatto che menzioni il "piatto principale" suggerisce che ci sarà qualcosa di sostanzioso dopo questo teaser su Netflix. Mi convince poco l'idea di una campagna pubblicitaria capillare e senza esclusione di colpi; per GTA la strategia è sempre stata mirata, con focus su dettagli specifici che stimolano l'hype. Vedremo se questa volta Rockstar deciderà di stravolgere le sue abitudini. L'uso della parola "hors d’œuvre" mi ricorda un po' il tono dei dialoghi di Leonida nel terzo capitolo.
